Our commitment is to Jesus and living out the implications of his death and resurrection in our lives. To help us do this we take the Bible seriously and endeavour to understand it properly and appropriately. This means listening to what those who’ve gone before us have discovered and learnt, as well as prayerfully seeking God in our own lives. We also recognise the contribution to our lives other believers can make and therefore our need to be active in and beyond the church community. We firmly believe that the message of Jesus is for all and we have a role in communicating this to the world through living distinctively. As Baptists we believe Baptism is a key part of our journey of faith, expressing that our lives are to be defined by Jesus' death and resurrection. We continue to express this truth through communion and through our daily lives. We believe that Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to carry on what He started, both in bringing the fullness of His death and resurrection to bear in our lives and equipping & empowering the church to be the people of God.
